AAC provides XML application for 2005 Marine Corps Marathon.
October 26, 2005
Vienna, Virginia AAC Inc, a leading provider of network engineering, convergence technologies, information assurance and IP Communications applications solutions, today announced that they have developed an XML application that will be used at this Sunday’s 31st running of the Marine Corp Marathon.
“AAC is happy to be partnered with Cisco Systems to provide leading edge technology in support of this prestigious marathon” said Doug Bowlds, VP of Engineering Services at AAC. Cisco Systems will have IP phones in the tents at the “Check Your Runner Stations” available on the race site area, at the Finish Street Festival, Crystal City and in the runners' Finish Festival tent close to the finish line to check your runner on the course.

“Our application running on the Cisco IP phones will allow marathon participants and spectators to input a bib number into the phone and the runners live splits and finishing times will transmit from the official website and be displayed on the phone screen”.
The first Marine Corp Marathon was held in 1976 and had 1,175 entrants. This year the Marathon will host over 20,000 entrants. For more information on the Marine Corp Marathon visit: www.marinemarathon.com
